About the event:
The little Britain cup is an awesome 3 day event, raising money for numerous charities whilst enabling members of the Construction Industry a chance to meet clients from other companies and have a GREAT TIME doing so!! The event is well organised with a full action packed social calendar whilst offering some of the most exciting racing conditions on the compact Solent waters, which is as exhilarating to watch as it is to compete in. The regatta extends over a magnificent 4 days and is not for the faint hearted! Serious racing is of course also accompanied by some serious socialising. Strong tides, erratic weather and 250 Companies competing, certainly make this a challenging event! Spinnakers are optional and add to the excitement!
About the Island
Easy to get to, the Isle of Wight has something for everyone and is one of the most beautiful parts of Britain. Just 23 miles by 13, the Island boasts award winning beaches, unspoilt and spectacular scenery and a rich historical heritage. More than half the Island is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with over 500 miles of award-winning public foot paths and bridleways and almost 30 miles of the seashore has been designated as Heritage Coast. It is also one of the best known sailing venues in the world as separating the Isle of Wight and mainland England is the Solent - an area of varied coastline and fierce tidal streams - which has been a training ground for world-beating sailors.
What happens Shoreside?
The Little Britain hosts all social activities and meals at Cowes Yacht Haven. Relax in the bar after a hard day's racing and look forward to an exciting evening of fun and entertainment. There are activities planned for every evening; cocktail parties at the Royal Yacht Squadron, live music, Friday theme evening and culminating in the Gala Dinner on the Saturday night. It's a well respected industry social event - and great fun! Thursday and Friday suppers are buffet style and service runs from 19:00 to 21:00, so there's no rush if you want to enjoy the many cocktail parties being held on various boats! The Saturday Gala Dinner is a more formal affair and tickets are snapped up very quickly.
