Hen and Stag Weekends

Sailing is a popular choice for hen and stag weekends as they create an opportunity for a group of people, who may not all know each other that well, to spend time together learning a new sport, socialising, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery whilst cruising the Solent.  They are also suitable for all ranges of sailing experience and you can be involved as little or as much as you like - depending on the strength of the hangover!

A typical itinerary

This will depend on the wind and tide but the most popular destination is a trip over to the Isle of Wight.

Our hen and stag weekends often start at the very lively Gunwharf Quay Marina http://www.gunwharf-quays.com/marina.htm - home to numerous waterside bars, restaurants, night clubs and great shopping - something for everyone!  Easy to access by road and rail it's a great place to begin your adventure.

On Saturday morning, after a hearty,  cooked or continental breakfast it's time to set sail and begin your sailing experience.  We can cruise around the quaint and lively parts of the south coast taking in the atmosphere and enjoying the sights. After 2/3 hours we can moor up at one of the secluded bays nearby for a swim/sunbathe followed by a cool summer lunch.

Spend the afternoon learning more about how to sail or just enjoy the sunshine and the calmness of the ocean. At 4pm it's back to the marina to prepare for the evening's entertainment. Following a hot shower, some pre-dinner drinks and nibbles ... spend the night discovering how Cowes reinvents itself after dark to become a hive of activity. The pubs and restaurants are excellent!

Sunday - wake gently to bacon rolls, hot coffee/tea and the Sunday paper! Chill out until you feel ready to prepare your yacht for departure and then spend this afternoon undertaking more sailing challenges or choose to relax and sip an ice cold drink until it's time to return to Portsmouth around 4.00pm.

The boat

One of our 34-40 foot yachts which are spacious and easy to sail with 8 berths and 3 cabins.
